How do you integrate technology in a high schoolw ith more than 200 teachers and 2,000 students? Strategies for develpoing a campus wide course of action.

  • WIKI
    • Use a wiki as a center for students to create a roulet type story, Each kid log into the wiki as themselves and add or edit the same wiki
    • Another teacher is doing a compare and contrast
    • Could set up a station which has the bookmark of the wiki already created - students log in as themselves and edit or add to the story on the wiki
    • Could have a page for each group or each stories
    • can use for math - put math sentences there and write a story problem for the sentence
    • IDEA...put a list of student names above each computer in the classroom
    • wikispaces, google or pbworks for wikis
      • They use First Class because they have a blogg and wiki and email
  • BLOGGING
    • Teacher creates the strin
    • kids comment with writting their sentences or answering the teachers question
      • Who do you love (1st or kinder)?
      • Kids respond with at least 5 sentences
      • Could pull up their answers and discuss grammar etc with the whole class

      • approved changes to chapter 74
        • health no longer required
        • no longer required to complete one credit in tech apps
        • must complete the 1/2 credit is speech - which is in the foundation curr
          • professional communications course that can also satisfy this credit
        • required to complete only one credit in PE and are no longer required to comlee the foundation of personal fitness course as part of that credit
        • students athlete can earn up to 4 credit in to be the required PE if they are in athletics
      • Mininum plan
        • must be at least 16yrs
        • 2 credits in the foundation curric
        • failed to be promoted to the 10th grade
      • CTE courses
        • 3 new courses to satisfy the math credit
        • 6 for the science credit
        • IPC phase out is removed
      • There are 12 courses students must take the end of course exames to graduate
